Financial advice can be very complicated. We work within a ridiculously jargon heavy environment and it is often the skill of the paraplanner to turn that into something that the client will understand. On that note, do you know the average reading age in the UK? Do you know how the length of a sentence can significantly impact the way someone processes information? All of this can hugely impact whether the client has understood the advice and the risks involved.

This is where our report writing module can help as we’ll be focusing more so on the nitty gritty of writing a report. We will be sharing our years of expertise and providing practical examples to help firms make sure that their report writing is done right (hint: jargon free).

This module is defined by four units. They are:

  • Report framework
  • Writing the report
  • Client engagement
  • Wider context of report writing

During this module, you will:

  • Understand which components of a suitability report are deemed mandatory by the FCA, and which ones are useful to include alongside.
  • Describe, in detail, the components of a suitability report involving investment recommendations.
  • Summarise the ways in which paraplanners can write suitability reports in order to make them more engaging for clients and suggest ways in which reports may change in the future, to help futureproof your work.
  • Outline how suitability reports provide a comprehensive summary of the advice process.
